About the owner Gail Gerbode

I was born in South Africa and have lived in the US for more than half of my life at this point.  I opened Besos in December 2008 after traveling to South America and seeing the beautiful lingerie available.   I very much enjoy working with people and that combined that with my love of beautiful lingerie, inspired me to open the business.  I had worked retail as a young girl and always enjoyed it but this is my first venture at running my own business.  I am very fortunate to be doing something I love so much.  Part of my initial goal was to have products from Colombia and also South Africa.  It has been a challenge finding lingerie designers in South Africa but I recently did and hopefully I will find more.

I have one daughter who has finally moved back to California this year.  She married her wonderful husband in 2010 and I am so thrilled to have them closer.

I am also an avid tennis player and play on a USTA team at my club, Los Gatos Swim and Racquet Club.
